This series illustrates Beyzaee's play by Bahram Beyzai in 1377 AH (Hijri Solar Calendar). The play is set during "Noman ibn Imru'l Qays (Noman Yukom)," the sixth Amir of Lakhm and the father of Mondhir ibn Noman. It revolves around the construction of Khorneq, a ceremonial structure, due to King Yazdegerd I's hospitality in Iran. Sanmar is an architect commissioned for this task, and the play explores the process of calling Sanmar, constructing Khorneq, the interactions between Noman and Sanmar, and ultimately the killing of Sanmar by Noman's order, all portrayed on the stage. The legend of Sanmar and Khorneq has been written by many before Beyzai, including Nizami Ganjavi in Persian literature, who narrates the story in his "Haft Peykar."
